Dear Symposium Attendee,

We are so happy that you have registered for PMI Nashville’s 2019 Symposium! Below is some information that will help make your attendance a rewarding and meaningful experience. Please take the time to review the information before you arrive at the Symposium. Many of your questions will likely be answered here. This information will also be posted on our chapter website on the Symposium page. If you have any questions, send them via e-mail to symposium@pminashville.org.

What to Expect:
Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, August 26 and at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27. A light breakfast will be available both days. The program begins at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, and 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Welcome / Registration Desk is located in the area off the lobby of the Embassy Suites. The education sessions will be either across the hall from the main Ballroom or down from the Welcome Desk . The Keynote presentations, selected the breakout sessions, and meals will be held in the Main Ballroom. The sponsors will be located near the Welcome Desk. A room layout diagram is shown on the back page of the Symposium Program.

Food and Drinks:
Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Monday and Tuesday, as well as snacks during the afternoon break on both days. Water will be available from water stations throughout the venue. All meals will be served buffet style; those attendees with special dietary needs will be able to select from the buffet based on the food descriptions provided by the Embassy Suites catering staff.

Wi-Fi Access:
Wi-Fi access is limited to the Symposium speakers for Keynote and Breakout Sessions. We hope this will allow you to focus on the information being shared or use the time to network with your peers. Don’t forget to bring business cards for networking.

Cell Phones:
We understand that cell phones are a reality of our lives today but we will remind you from time to time that all phones must be muted throughout the Symposium out of respect for the speakers and other attendees. If you need to take a call, please excuse yourself from the room.

PDUs:
This year, we will provide the PMI event numbers on a printed handout by the end of the Symposium (Tuesday). Members with certifications will self-report to PMI using these numbers.

Attire:
You may want to bring a sweater or jacket, as the rooms may be cool.
We hope you enjoy the speakers and networking with co-workers and have a positive and enjoyable experience with us! Be sure to respond to the survey; you’ll learn more about that process in the opening remarks on Monday. We take that feedback seriously when planning the next Symposium.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2019 Symposium! If you need help with anything, please feel free to ask any of the room facilitators or anyone at the Welcome Desk.

Sincerely,
The 2019 Symposium Committee
